Interning at a PE firm currently and I've spoken with several bankers who all have said they no longer model and use AI to do it. My interest in banking was to learn modeling then later pivot from there, but AI is making me question my purpose of doing IB. Another route I see is sales & trading, which 1) I am interested in from my enjoyment of math 2) I think won't be replaced by AI anytime soon. Anyone have advice on this?
