Yeah, I've worked with those guys a bit, they're good dudes. Or at least ive worked with some group of DB guys while they were somewhere down south. Their strats/tape crackers/collateral guys are down there.

The guys I worked with were basically considered "middle office" and I believe they were compensated as such. They were basically completely looked down upon and punked at every turn by the DB bankers in NYC. It was kind of fucked up in retrospect.

These guys might have been in Florida now that I think about it, but I wouldn't touch DB in the south with a 10 foot pole regardless. They just got punked so hard and so consistently....

DB's data center is located in Jacksonville. 95% of the employees are backoffice drones, the rest are middle office.

To my knowledge, DB doesn't really have a presence in Atlanta.

You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake, son.

+1 on not having an atl presence. Jax has ibd and cm, but quality of employees seem lower.

What about Jacksonville, then? Does anybody know anything about DB JAX?

Yeah, I worked with their collateral/strat group there on a deal once. It sucks fucking ass. Every type of ass that can be sucked, it sucks.

The collateral guys basically structure the entire transaction, have long shitty hours, work hard, make about half what a first year analyst makes in NYC, and then just get completely humiliated by the DB guys in NYC at every opportunity. The guy I was working with was like 30-35 and wasn't allowed to call the client's analyst on his own.

The guys that work there are fucked. It sucks. They're chattel.
