Did I just lie on my resume?? (pls help am freaking out)
so I submitted my resume and transcript to a position. on my transcript, my gpa is 3.566. but i heard it's standard practice in banking to round to one decimal place - so on my resume it says 3.6/4.0. didn't see the discrepancy until i submitted it.
am i totally screwed?? will HR see the difference and red flag me permanently?? pls help. this could be my anxiety speaking but i just really want to hear your thoughts!
Nothing wrong with that.
With that being said, are you majoring in accounting?
no i'm not, i'm a finance/econ major
so it's okay? will HR think i'm inflating my grades? i genuinely read everywhere that's it's normal to list gpa to 2 significant figures..
That is fine stop freaking out
Don't worry about it
My HR didnt even bother looking at my transcript.
If you are freaking out about this, then you will have a full on heart attack if you actually get a job in investment banking
It's just proper mathematical rounding... nothing wrong with that.
No one cares about the difference between a 3.57 and a 3.6. Now if you had a 3.64 for example I wouldn't round that down to a 3.6
