Tech m&a means that you are doing the m&a for the tech coverage team. If you are part of just tech coverage that includes creating presentations, pitching, and having deep industry knowledge. There are teams that have in house m&a where you are responsible for everything, so it gets bank specific

 

This differentiation is usually only in large BB banks..

Tech M&A generally gets involved in sell-side M&A and large buysides..they usually work on the model track while coverage helps with the CIM/MP…

Coverage and M&A juniors usually manage the process details between them Usually in a particular process M&A has the upper hand… but overall in the firm.. coverage group has more power
