Was wondering how possible it is to move from a direct lending SA role to a FT spot at a tier 2 rx firm. Have heard that spots are limited but would my DL experience be looked at favorably?

I recruited FT and didn’t get an Rx offer, but definitely got some interviews after a summer in high yield public credit. Just keep reaching out and make connections. Nobody has true “experience” after just a 10 week internship. if you’re likable and have familiarity with credit you’ll get a shot.
Yea I think I do not want to limit myself to secured debt this early in my career and would rather get exposed to different parts of the capital structure. Also realize that tier 1 shops are near impossible but still definitely interested in the space and find the work interesting as well.
