Do any of you have expreience "Shadowing" an IB analyst?

Hey gang. My strategy is to "shotgun shadow" a bunch of different people in different careers. My first one - I want to shadow someone in IB.

It's quite a genius idea really because I get a chance to network directly when I'm inside the building. I can also write on my resume that I have shadow experience. Employers love it.

I'll observe their day and really see what goes into these deals. I can also provide moral support to the analyst and tell them how smart they are. Or bringing them some coffee or snacks. They'll love it, so everyone benefits in the end.

I'll finally know if IB is the right career path for me.

For anyone that's done it, how did you do it?

That's for sure a troll post but if not, here's a few tips:

- This will be the most boring day of your life

- You won't "really see what goes on into these deals", because you'll most likely be watching an analyst update tombstones or cap tables all day

- Even if the analyst was working on a live deal, you'd have to sign a ton of NDAs for this "shadowing" to even be legal. And no bank would bother doing all this legwork just for you to have "shadow experience"

- I'd be fucking annoyed if a student was hanging out behind me telling me how smart I am while I'm getting chased down for a deck that's "too blue" for my MD's taste

Have fun, and please let us know if you actually pull this off.
