Do you need to know T-chart accounting in IB
Wondering if knowing how to do T-chart accounting is a must for IB and essentially PE later on?

You dont think knowing the basics of accounting taught in a 101 class aren’t pertinent to IB, or any finance related job?
I know you don’t make t-charts in IB but you should know how debits and credits affect each other
I was just thinking the other day about how I don’t remember any of that. A single thing
No I’d be surprised if it ever came up. The important aspect of accounting is learning how businesses work from that perspective. T charts would be less useful than understanding what line items are affected when you make a sale, raise debt, dispose of a division etc.
