Do you work a lot more at a EB vs BB?

Keep seeing these posts on how much more EBs pay than BBs, especially the past few years. Apparently there are associates clearing $450k at EBs, whereas I couldn’t even reach $300k as an associate 2 (not a bottom performer).

Is there a catch? Do associates at EBs work significantly more or have a worse culture? I typically average in the 70s in terms of hours/week as an AS3 and wrap up between 10-12pm, so at least have enough time to sleep most nights.

I have an opportunity to interview at a EB and want to be sure the grass is actually greener and I’m not walking into a trap working until >2am every night. I’m at the point in life where I’m starting to value having a shred of WLB / getting enough sleep.

I think the answer to this is probably yes. At my EB, almost everyone up to the VP level is working until 1-2am minimum daily.
