Does lateral market exist right now? (MBB consulting --> IB)

I'm a 2nd year analyst at an MBB consulting firm, nearing my 2 year mark. For undisclosed reasons, I am trying to leave my firm ASAP. PE recruiting has been uphill coming from a consulting background, and overall things are not going well.

I am exploring lateraling to an investment banking role. Is the lateral market existent right now? Not looking for prestige and will happily take a boutique in NYC

I'm healthcare-focused, if that helps

Honestly it’s almost a dead lateral recruiting market, which means for the few roles that’s out there, ppl will prefer to hire experienced (and ranked) folks from competitors or through references.

Best advise I can give you is try ur luck with references or if you want to switch immediately try with one of the many clients of your firm, cause consulting is in terrible as well .. good luck
