Doing something fun every day—possible in IB?
I've seen TikToks and Instagrams of peope doing 1 fun thing every day. Going to the beach, going for a run, going on a solo date night...
Has anyone tried doing the same thing in IB? On a given day, I might only have 30 minutes of free time. And even though my group lets me block off time on my calendar, the most I ever do is take ~1 workout class a week.
Anyone have any ideas / short activities to do on a week night? Feeling a bit down lately, and I just find it really difficult to go through the whole week, working 9am - 1am, with nothing to look forward to

Don’t compare your life to those of airhead bimbo TikTok girls - they are playing life on recruit difficulty and also only showing you heavily edited highlights of their lives on top of that. That being said, it is a good idea to make time for something you enjoy doing each week so you have something to look forward to.
I only take adderall twice a week so I have something to look forward to. Does that count?

Yeah, it's not really going to happen generally in IB, especially in the junior banker role. You really have to be honest with yourself and set expectations. You may have time to do that 2-3 times a week, but if you think it's going to happen every day and you miss 4-5 times, it's going to bum you out. I always try to think "hey I'm going to work till ~11:30 every day, and if I get out earlier, it makes my day."
Those “1 fun thing a day” girls have a work schedule that consists of spending 1 hour a day putting pictures of their ass on TikTok / instagram for millions of dollars a year.
Don’t compare yourself to them. Also expand your idea of fun and yeah you can do something daily. Sometimes it might just be practicing an instrument you like, taking a walk, hitting a PR in the gym, chatting with a friend, watching a video/tv show, quick jog to the park. We can’t be out here taking 3 hour solo dates for fun brother.
All I have to say is that there's a reason those WLB tiktoks aren't being made by normal-looking guys. That said, you should still *generally* have time to do something random and fun, albeit brief. If you're not able to sneak in a 22 minute episode of The Office or something most days, ie you literally have less than 22 minutes of free time a day, your group is too sweaty. I know there are some days where you wake up, go to work, come back and sleep but if you're averaging 100+ hours, that's a sign to switch groups imo
Yes I can/do do that outside of deal mode. On deal mode though which is maybe 25% of the time I only get up to take a piss.
