Dropping extracurriculars after SA offer?

I recently got lucky enough to receive and accept an SA offer with a MM bank in NYC. I was wondering how it would look to the bank if I dropped out of one of my student investment fund involvements on campus.

I have been involved with it since freshman year and have grown to a semi-leadership position. However, the new leadership has made the organization's culture toxic, it includes a heavy time commitment, and I just don't want to work with the fund's people anymore. I actually got yelled at last meeting by one of our co-presidents for a deliverable my team did not get the chance to finish, so I am kinda over it.

Would it be okay if I drop out of this involvement? I am a current 2nd-year and I do want to still include the experience on my resume, but I will have other internships and a consulting student org that I am also involved with.

Not a helpful comment but I can’t help but laugh at student club leaders LARPing as toxic MDs by yelling at their peers. So many of the people this industry attracts need years and years of therapy.

Getting scolded by people my own age is crazy. The only reason I joined was for experience + resume building for SA recruiting. It's such a mentally draining org that I am questioning whether or not real IB is gonna be like this.

Bro coming from another sophomore, you should 100% drop that stuff. Banks do not care and will probably not ask you for an updated resume before your internship in 2024. everyone I know around me that accepted a 2024 offer just stopped doing everything lmao. You will be fine my guy. Getting grilled by someone your age also sucks, happened to me as well
