Duff & Phelps goes private
Carlyle Group LP (CG) has purchased investment banking firm Duff & Phelps Corp. (NYSE: DUF) for about $665.5 MM.
The buyers group includes Greenwich, Conn.-based Stone Point Capital LLC, Swiss bank Pictet & Cie and Luxembourg-based Edmond de Rothschild Group.

Wonder what the plan is now. Do they try and improve the MM IB practice, which has slipped of late IMO? Do they focus more Rx and specialty advisory? Business Valuation and Fairness Opinions?
