Early Internship for IB: Consulting vs. Big 4 Audit vs. Hedge Fund

Hi,

I'm thinking of transferring into a top tier school like Cornell for econ major, and at the same time I'm also looking for internships that will help place me in the IB. I have been debating which route I should take. Here are some options, so which one would you consider for internship if you are determined to go into IB?

In addition, because I am looking into the Econ major at Cornell and a few other top-tier schools, which one of the above do you think that will help with my transfer application (pitch for econ major)?

Thank you in advance!

No I wish though. These are just my assumptions for my sophomore year. I'm currently in freshman year and am preparing for my sophomore year activities that will be helpful for transferring and getting in IB.

You're right, but would you recommend doing something related to auditing or consulting? so I can take advantage of the winter break and summer to build up my work experience, maybe taking related courses as well. Thanks!

Do you have offers at all of these? Either of the first 2 would be beneficial, would probably take McKinsey for not being accounting and the slightly more elite name.

However - if you're going to transfer you either need to do it now or plan to take an extra year for SA recruiting. Recruiting starts in the spring, picks up heavily in the summer, and mostly wraps up by September, so Cornell will barely help you if you're just starting to think about it. Current sophomores are already reaching out to network and recruiting will start up in 2-3 months. Time is not on your side if you're aiming to transfer and recruit for 2022 spots.
