EB RX still best starting point for L/S?
People on that sight keep talking about SM exits from RX, and of course the optionality to interview for MMs. Is this still true for EB RX or does everyone do PE?

I don't think anyone has ever said EB Rx is the best starting place for L/S equity.
The best starting place is L/S equity, barring a very specific selection of SM funds that hire 2+2 etc.
EB Rx is still a great spot for L/S equity though, personally have seen some good analysts with this background.
got it—thanks.
I’ve been told some people forgo Cit/p72 for rssg for the shot at some SMs that hire from 2+2 backgrounds.
Do you think it’s worth recruiting RX? Or is this just fomo. W/ accelerated timelines it’s hard to just try everything. Would rather spend more time pitching then studying rx
I’ve got a good resume for public markets and work hard on pitches so I’m gonna try my hand at LS SA.
Who is this someone? The sophomore with 3 WSO accounts that constantly glaze the path of PJT RSSG to APO to TGM? Don’t know anyone that do EB Rx for the sole purpose of a shot at SMHF after 4 years of grinding. They do it either because they are a distressed hardo or they want to maximize their chance at MFPE either through FT recruiting or oncycle.
The best place to start L/S is P72 or Citadel CAP. P72 has a much better program but anecdotally the ppl I know at CAP are much sharper. Some SMHF do hire straight out of undergrad as well but they are not frequent and require you to find them.
Sad to see no love for the Millennium equity program
Thanks for the advice, no someone who made that choice but I think they wanted SM ultimately.
Ngl thats some insane edging work for a sophomore decide to go for EB Rx because 8 years later he can finally get a shot at L/S at a SM.
I think Baupost/Elliott/Viking/Maverick/2+2 places have hired out of rssg but unsure. So a 2 year trade off?
3 years ago or so sure. Narrative and paradigm has shifted and the value of a good MM seat (and thereby the training value of P72 Acad/CAP/MLP x UBS) has appreciated in the investing world.
to each their own though.
Anyway this is about to turn into SM vs MM. EB Rx is good if that's what you're asking. You will get a broad range of looks.
