Emory vs. NW ED

So I have a decision to make that's going to have to be made soon: either apply to Emory ED or Northwestern ED. I want to go into investment banking, preferably in the North somewhere(Chicago or NYC doesn't matter). The dilemma here is that I can only apply to one, and ED raises my chances by a lot. I'd peg my chances at Emory ED at around 75% but only around 45% normally(totally ballpark). OTOH I'd peg my chances at 35% ED for NW and would probably not even apply RD because my chances would much much lower.

I feel that the NW name would be stronger but Emory is not that bad. Another thing complicating the equation is that there's a lower chance of my parents paying for all 4 years of school at Emory while I'm around 90% sure they'd shell out for NW. I might have to pay full price for 2 years or so at Emory, which would be absolutely horrific.

The last factor is that ED raises my chances by a lot, and without it, I would probably have a much lower chance elsewhere. I would then have to take my chances with regular admission, and anything goes there. I might have to end up going where my parents might not pay for anything past the first year and be in a worse place for recruiting.

Thoughts? Sorry for turning this place into College Confidential.

I have, and they won't commit. I can sort of understand, as the situation is kind of weird right now, but it's still horrible for me. We don't qualify for financial aid either.

I would give the slight edge to NW, but my advice would be to choose whichever place is cheaper or that you anticipate will give you financial aid.

I actually have the same exact dilemma. My stats are really mediocre for Northwestern but extremely strong for Emory. I need to make a decision soon..

My only advice is to not t apply to Emory for the ED 2 cycle. Last year ED2 was harder than RD. If you would be equally happy at Emory and NU, I would just do Emory ED. In my case, I can't shake off the fact that I like NU slightly more than Emory, so I'm likely applying there ED instead if my NU essay is baller.
