Engineering soph @ Princeton - too late for IB?
I am a sophomore electrical and computer engineering student at Princeton University. My GPA is 3.75/4.00; and I have numerous summers worth of experience in machine learning/computational physics research.
Is it too late for me to choose IB as a career? And if not, what steps can I take to make it be available as an option?
Why tf would you want to go into IB if you have the chance to work in AI / ML which seems universally agreed to be the future of a lot of tech advancement in the upcoming decades? Seriously, if you like what you're doing in your major - don't switch. If you hate it, consider it? You're at Princeton and literally can do whatever you want at a top target like that.
Keep up those awesome stats and you can do anything you want, including banking
If I were u I wouldn’t waste my time in IB, if you want to focus on finance then quantitative trading should be your jam where you work normal hours for good pay. Also develop an idea and start your own company. If that works out ok then you have an easy shot into VC. Any angel investor or VC would give their left testicle to give money to a Princeton engineer and see what they do with it
