ER vs MBA for IB
Hi everyone, I'm currently a first year portfolio analytics associate (although I worked a year in retail sales at the same firm before my current role so technically 2 years of post undergrad work) at a major asset management firm. I'm confident I have a direct path to joining the equity securities research team in about another 12-15 months, however I'm really thinking IB is still a strong career interest. I'm unsure if ER would be a better path or if I should get an MBA so I can pursue the IB analyst route. If IB is something I want to pursue in the future, will joining the ER team hinder my odds of going to IB or am I better off applying to MBA programs now?
