Evercore cut its analyst training programme from three years to two - any insights?

Just came across this article in FN: "evercore-fast-tracks-junior-dealmakers-to-keep-pace-with-larger-rival"

any one has some insights on that?

If you plan to leave after your third year, it’s still 3 years. If you intend to stay on as associate, you can get the promotion after 2.5 years IF you’re a high performer. Only makes a difference for people intending to be long-term bankers as they get paid the associate salary an extra six months early. Still just as long to get to VP from there though (7 years total).

3 An / 4As will become 2.5 An / 4.5 As (if selected as a high performer).

So I assume that after 2.5 years, you get 185 base followed by 200, 225, and 250 the following three years?
