Excel training courses?

I noticed the 2nd and 3rd year analysts in my group are really fast with navigating excel shortcuts and formulas, even ppt. I have been working on the desk for a few months already, but I still feel slow.

Has anyone tried any useful courses to teach banking excel navigation and excel shortcuts to get more proficient? I understand it takes time and practice but currently I only know a few basic functions and feel behind where I should be.

With regards to shortcuts it is mostly repetition, repetion and repetition. Just force yourself to don't use your mouse as often as you can. Think 80/20 - typically you will use ~20% of available shortcuts for ~80% of your tasks. For those, put them on the quick access toolbar (QAT) so you can navgiate with Alt + No. For me those are:

- paste values / formulas / formats

- borders

- font color

- filter

If you have a good quick access toolbar you will speed up your work drastically. With regards to formulas. It is helfpul to go through free youtube videos (leila gharani, excelisfun, etc.). Again really be 80/20 and focus on the most important formulas:

- index/match

- sumifs

- countifs

- xlookup

- filter

Before you go into more fancy stuff that you will barely use and when you use it will need to look it up anyway (i.e. Offset, Indirect, ...). Look at some basic introduction videos and then look how people solve more complex real world problems. Introduction to index match would be a simple row match. Advanced would be row & column match with helper rows and columns.
