Executive recruiting -> IB?

Hi everyone, hypothetical question here. Do we think it's possible for someone in executive recruiting to make their way into banking? Has this been done or seen before? The job is similar at a higher level, minus the technical aspects and the nature of sale (a person vs. a company/securities). Not only that, but one would naturally build C-level contacts and network over time, which would naturally benefit one's career as a banker. Please let me know any thoughts. Thanks.

Have never seen it. Other sales industries where there is a deeper financial element (eg P&L, investments, returns etc) that tie in with opportune timing (eg hot market combined with deep sector focus) are only times I have seen it and it is very rare. Have you thought about a reset via a top ranked b-school to pivot in if very interested?
