Fall IB Internships for Canadians
Hi everyone,
Would really appreciate any help here. Canadian non-target, 3.9 GPA, looking for an off-cycle fall internship in IB 2025.
Anybody done this before? Where should I look, and when does recruiting start? I've done some networking, but I'm wondering which portal applications I should do to maximize my chances.

Typically for off-cycle internships, applications will start to come out 4-months in advance. Unlike summer internships, I don't really see any 1-year and a half in advance type of applications for the fall. Just check on LinkedIn and the company websites when the time comes. Networking beforehand and asking about fall internships at some of the smaller boutique firms might get you shortlisted or an early interview. Best of luck
Does networking matter when it comes to off-cycle for the Big 5? I'd assume it matters to a certain extent, but is it as important as for on-cycle
For offcycle, typically banks have spots reserved for the UWaterloo / WLU pipeline. So if ur not from those two schools u likely are competing against the rest of Canada for those spots which include ivey/queens students doing a gap year

Networking is usually important as these are co-op processes. If your school doesn’t have a co-op, you need to network to get into the processes. Source: was involved in TD and CIBC’s off-cycle and come from a non-co-op school
If those banks are posting off-cycle listings at my bschool's career center, is networking still that important?
I mean networking is always valuable in this industry. If you’re at a target for co-op off-cycles then you have the upper hand I would assume. I’m not from a co-op target so can’t speak too much to that.
