Financial Technology Partners vs. Piper Jaffray Technology

Hello I am currently a 1st year looking to lateral.

Have two great opportunities in SF to lateral to: Financial Technology Partners and Piper Jaffray.

Please provide me with some insight on these opportunities. I have heard great things about both banks, especially FTP said they work 90% on deals and 10% pitching.

Piper Jaffray argues they are a BB and work are deals >$1B!

I am looking into financial technology to help me invest my money. Is there a better place to look? I am not in the industry anymore and I know there have been advancements. Since you all are in the industry, what is your opinion? When I was working in early 2000, the hottest thing was Modern Portfolio Theory. Have things changed or what?
