First year analyst, not good at ‘real’ modeling

So I'm an AN1 at a respected/smaller NYC based firm; however at a regional east coast office; have gotten good reps in with decks, scheduling calls, note taking, updating things, etc. On a project now and got put on a model, but really just don't have experience here yet, took me way long than it should've to build something/took many iterations, and gradually stumbling through these types of issues. My team helps but I don't want to ask repeat questions, so I try to take clear notes, but some stuff flies over my head that they talk about like is common sense. Any tips/advice on how to persevere, it's been really hurting my confidence and as a result I think impacting my performance too. I can do valuation/LBO's but we're doing more operating model types of stuff here.
