Starting my training in about a month as an Analyst at a BB in NYC in the Public Finance department of the IB
Wanna help me out and tell me what I will be learning? Also, what is the best way to prepare in a month so that the homework and material could be handled easily?

so my friend is in public finance ib and he said its mostly bond math and rfp work during training. I think he's in the healthcare side of public finance
In analyst training you spend the first part with general Ib training then later get into learning bond math and excel structuring and then dbc

Does anyone have any insight into pubfin training at a BB firm for analysts? Do these analysts go through the same classes and take the same tests as their M&A/corpfin counterparts? Or is training much more groups specific? Couldn't find any good info on this...any insight would be much appreciated.

It would not be that helpful. There is less modelling in Public Finance. It is mostly high grade tax-exempt bond issuance. There really isn't much M&A (you can't takeover a government agency), and little if any equity issuance.
As a full time, I'm sure your bank will give you the full training program plus specific group training. Don't worry about anything additional. The prep programs are good for those that want to get a feel of what banking is like, but once you have an offer, let your bank take care of the training part.
