Folder Structure

What's your preferred internal folder structure for sell-side mandates? (e.g., Admin, Buyers, Process, Marketing, etc.) Have a few bankers that have come from other shops that do things differently. Now I'm intrigued to see how other groups are structuring their data.

Hi! Internal folder structures for sell-side mandates can definitely vary across firms, and I've seen some wild differences depending on whether the banker came from a BB, a boutique, or a consulting background.

If you're standardizing or refining your internal setup, you might find EZFolders really useful. It's a new productivity tool that lets deal teams instantly generate folder structures from a simple outline or CSV with no scripts or templates needed. So if your team agrees on a format like:

01_Admin   02_Engagement   03_Marketing   04_Buyers   05_Offers   ...

You can build it easily for every new mandate, and even tweak structures depending on deal stage, sector, or region.

Could be great to enforce naming consistency and save onboarding time when new associates or VPs join.
