Follow-Up with HR or Interviewer After SPD?
Had a superday a couple days ago, and I'm yet to hear back. I know most offers go out within the same day to 48 hrs, and I'm currently past that period now. However, I don't see any LinkedIn posts nor has anyone said anything about it on WSO. I know that's not a great benchmark, but I genuinely think I did really well and honestly just want closure.
Is it a good idea to follow up with HR or with one of the interviewers I connected well with to ask about my candidacy and reiterate my interest? I fear this might come off as desperate, but would love to hear thoughts.
past 48 hours isn't dead. offers go out fast to the top of the pile, but waitlist movement and second-batch calls can take a week or two, and some banks hold everyone until the class starts signing.
following up is fine and won't read as desperate if it's done once and done right. email HR, not the interviewer - short, reiterate interest, ask if there's an updated timeline. HR owns the process; the interviewer can't tell you anything and being put on the spot is awkward for them. the moment for the interviewer note was the thank-you right after the superday.
one email, then stop. and keep recruiting elsewhere until something is signed - the closure doesn't come from the email anyway.
