FT IBD Team Selection

Hi peeps,

Finished/finishing up my SA stint at a BB. We're being asked to submit team preferences soon and although I have some idea of where I'd like to be placed, I don't want to go in head first as this is potentially what I'd be doing for the next couple years of my life.

Initially, I was thinking of targeting product teams as it'd give me exposure to all industries (which I think I would prefer) but during the summer, I got along really well with 2 industry teams. Problem being, one of the industry teams is super specialised (can probs guess what team) so I don't want to pick it and risk not enjoying it.

Question being: what advice would you give someone in my position? Do I go for the product teams although I risk not enjoying the people I work with but get exposure to all industries or go for the industry teams where I've already built a rapport with the A+As?
