FT Partners - Fulltime Recruitment

Hey all, making a thread for those applying to FTP (full time). Seems relatively early against many other shops - where do you guys stand in the process? Currently have a first round phone interview coming up myself, would be great to get a better picture. Also would be helpful for anyone who has experience with the firm's process to talk about the timeline.

Cheers

Nice, nice. Saw you post around, let's stay in touch about the process. Got my first round 2-3 days after the assess

I am the real boss baby.

Based on the comments above, why would anyone want to work at a firm like this? Sorry for the stupid question, I am just trying to understand your rationale here.

Had a super day there recently, the group I was with all got offers the following Monday. The process itself was intense but I wouldn't say anything negative about the interviews. Don't memorize the interview guide answers, the technical session is meant to test your intuitions on accounting and valuation as opposed to running through numbers.

With all that being said, the process is different for everyone; you may or may not have additional phone calls following your super day, but that isn't a bad sign.

I've got a series of interviews for full time coming up soon, could I get some more insight on the type of technicals they were asking? Anything specific to fintech?

I interviewed with the 3 weeks ago and asked about second round. He mentioned they won't respond back till October 9th for me, which is long. I have a second round that could turn into an offer with a boutique. I wouldn't like to hold up offers because some guy is slow to reject me.

I hope ib firms believe in rejection letters. The waiting game isn't much fun when planning my future.

Heard the majority of analyst got the promotion to associate so would most likely be very open to lateral analyst hirings.

For the more senior folk, some MDs recently left to pursue their own business or take on an opportunity that was gnawing at them for quite some time. Not a bad thing at all - people have to do what is right for them as well, don't you think? So Senior level positions are open as well FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD. CEO will want to talk to you though most likely so probably reach out to him or some other senior person to get the ball rolling. Be prepared though as FT Partners looks for the greatest and wisest of any role...not a pushover firm by any means.

We need to consider both sides here. FT Partners is a solid boutique bank that is doing well in its niche and continuing to impress in the MM space. They work hard, sure but every bank does this and it's not like that's a bad thing when you have a lot of active deals that everyone is consistently working on. I really feel like people talk a little too much about the negatives of FT when we need to really consider that there are still a lot of great things that makes FT good to work for. Let's face it: if you had to choose between FT Partners and not investment banking, then everyone would definitely go with FT Partners.

PM me for any questions.
