FT Recruiting 25

Does anyone know which firms might have full-time opportunities?

I understand that the spots are varied by the return rate from their SA, but generally speaking, there are firms with lower return rates, which might lead to more FT positions, I think? Meanwhile, do we need to do another round of online applications (or even hirevues) or do we directly receive interview invitations though networking?

I’m just gonna be honest based on what I know. No one really would want to share the info about FT recruitment to be frank with you. You and many other rising seniors are disproportionately unsatisfied with your offers compared to other years because of the poor market conditions for financial services. I am going to give you this advice, it all depends on who you know and what your internship is this summer. If you’re at a respectable mm, you can elevate to an EB/BB if you have the right network. If you are at a smaller regional bank or a foreign balance sheet bank that lacks advisory, you will have a tough time going to a BB. My advice: be practical. Yes of course take every opportunity, but if your goal is to secure a better offer than your current one, you need to be honest with yourself about the position you are in. Experience with credit revolvers won’t impress a BB recruiter looking for a polished SA with advisory experience. There aren’t certain banks that do more FT recruiting than others consistently. But BB/MM tend to have the most structured FT process. But key to success in re-recruiting for FT is network, be competent, be realistic.

what if I worked at a lower middle market IB firm for my sophomore summer, now working at a lower middle market private credit firm (involed in deal team and modeling). I want to recruit for IB FT25, so what should I do and position myself?

thanks a lot for your help!
