Fuld Ready for His Close-Up

A Reuters reporter surprised former Lehman Brothers CEO Dick Fuld last week at his vacation home in Idaho. When Fuld recovered, he quipped, "You don't have a gun; That's good."

As the anniversary of Lehman's collapse approaches (they filed for bankruptcy protection on September 15, 2008), it appears Dick Fuld has come to terms with his caricature as Wall Street's biggest villain. He's been keeping a low profile, but he isn't hiding from anyone. And when asked about the upcoming anniversary he complained about being dumped on but then said, "I can handle it. You know what? Let them line up."

We can expect a lot of Lehman coverage over the next few days. Many former Lehmanites still have a serious ax to grind with Paulson and the rest of the crew that let them go under.

If you have the time, this is an excellent article about what happened with Lehman and how we haven't bothered to learn anything from it:

Have a great weekend.
