Golden Key Honor Society
Is Golden Key Honor Society worth joining?
- I've heard mixed reviews. Some say its legit and rivals Phi Beta Kappa.
- Others say its useless.
Please advice. Thanks in advance.

never heard of it... @ Ivies PBK is a very, very well-regarded distinction.
God they spam me all the time, always glance at it thinking it's Goldman....Huge letdown.
it's a legit society but has no where near the cred as PBK or the engineering society (forget what it's called). Most of my buddies elected not to join as it seems like a waste of money
Do not join Golden Key, it's worthless. Beta Gamma Sigma is really the only recognizable distinction as far as business schools go (top 10% of undergrad business students receive an offer to join).
Don't join. It's not worth the $75 or whatever amount they try to scrape out of you. I remember as a freshman getting letters and emails from them all the time, so fucking annoying.
This is not PBK
PBK is a big deal to have on a resume
Wtf is Golden Key Society? (Originally Posted: 12/09/2010)
I got this invitation in my email for a "Golden Key International Honour Society" and I'm wondering wtf this is? Is it a scam, because I don't recall applying to any honor society?
Google is a fairly useful tool
So are you, minus the "fairly useful" part
I've got tons of these as well...can't figure out what they actually do.
It costs $85 or something to join so seemed like BS to me.
If there's a fee, it's a scam. Real honor societies - Phi Beta Kappa, etc. - don't charge you money.
Actually, pbk does.
So it does. I'm not PBK material, and none of my friends who made it ever mentioned a fee, but I stand corrected. I'll revise my advice:
If neither you nor your friends have heard of it and there's a fee, it's a scam.
its an honor / "honour" society - legitimate...
it's really something to put on your resume, and other than that, didn't see any use for it. they had a few events (service, social events, etc.) but i didn't think it differentiated me at all
scam. if i saw this on a resume I'd know you were some glory-seeking resume padder. soooo not legit.
