Goldman Sachs to HBS pipeline?
I have an offer to be a first year analyst in a GS classic IBD group this summer. My ultimate goal is to go to HBS (come from top 5 ug), but I’ve read the bar for bankers is higher. Obviously plenty of people go GS —> HBS, but does anyone know for the average non hooked applicant what ones chances would be?
In addition to this, also curious how much your post IB experience (prestige of PE firm for example) matters compared to what bank you did you IB stint at
From what I've heard, I think your odds of getting into HBS would go up significantly if you went to a MF after GS versus a MM. Given that you're on a conventional track, schools like this can be picky and select the best of the best from the white male finance crowd. That being said, GS is a fantastic shop and should get you looks at any top business school.
