Good Networking Calls ->Straight Ghosting?

Hi, just wanted to ask some perspectives on what I wrote in the title.

I had networking calls with some analyst/VP level people at a bank. We were well connected, had great conversations, and I think it went well. Upon applying, I sent them some notes telling them I'm applying. Some did reply and some didn't. Like a month or so later, I tried to catch up with them if there's any update for the process, then they went straight up ghosting......

I didn't talk to anyone after having those initial chats, so I highly doubt it was someone at the firm shitting me but I can't help myself from knowing what's going on... Are they just all super busy or is there something that I'm missing??

Cheers.

Would like to know as well. Had a great call with an alum MD a while ago; he explicitly stated that he would personally connect me with the recruiting team for my school, but didn't hear back. I followed up a few weeks later and still nothing.

People are busy man. As someone who has done extensive networking, you come to realize that most people will make their best effort to help you out and keep a dialogue but you can’t fault them for not responding. DONT TAKE IT PERSONAL. Cast a wide net as well to limit the disappointment of a connection not coming through.

I would say just keep reaching out every few weeks but don’t go more than 4 emails in a row without a response. At that point, it’s just irritating.
