Good Public Schools to Get a Degree for I-Banking?
I know that the top four actively recruit at the big schools (Wharton, UChicago, etc), But I want to know if they recruit at the schools with less prestige (states schools like the UCS, UVA, etc) and if they do, how active are they?
go to cal
Add UNC to that list
what the hell is top four? Also, what is UCS?
UVA and UMich aren't bad either.
ucla
I'm assuming the big state schools like
uva ut austin michigan cal unc maybe ucla
would UNC be considered a target for most BBs?
no

I'm thinking of transferring and need to pick out safety schools. I have reasons other than academic for choosing them btw not just a random list. Was wondering your guys thoughts
Suny Binghamton University of Wisconsin Michigan State Bentley University Case Western University University of Rochester University of Connecticut Northeastern University University of Iowa
My opinion: from best to worst
U-Wisconsin U Rochester Case Western Suny Bing Uconn Bentley Michigan State Northeastern U of Iowa
Northeastern is ranked far too low in my opinion. Here is how I'd see it, for ibanking at least.
Wisconsin
Bentley Northeastern (really an upcoming school and quickly gaining credibility)
Rochester (I think they are only known for their sciences, could be wrong) Uconn Case Western Suny Bing Michigan State Iowa
idk particulars about the schools, but here are two things to consider: 1) closer to nyc, the better (for networking, interning during year), 2) the bigger the school, the better (by pure numbers, likely to be more alumni on street all else equal. obvi not something to consider if its 5k vs 6k, but 5k vs 10k may make a difference)
also interested...
Wisconsin Rochester Bentley/NE SUNY Birmingham
IMO....
Wisc-Madison Case Western SUNY Bing UConn
the rest is kinda interchangable
Why not get on LinkedIn and see how many alumni from each school are in banking?
If cost is not a problem:
Know which one has the best business program. Google the rankings of the schools.
Out of the top 3, look on Linkedin to find which ones most frequently landed a job similar to what you want to do.
Try e-mailing those people and find out their experiences at that school were and how they got the job.
Thanks brahs; for reach schools whats harder to get into NYU Stern, Cornell/Brown or Columbia? I've got a 4.0 at a school at the level of University of Missouri thus far and have a 2100 SAT
Based on those stats, the only real "reach" would probably be Columbia. I had the exact same stats and transferred Ivy as an incoming sophomore. You've already proved your clout with college work, so NYU, Cornell, and Brown would all be within reach. I feel as though the transfer deadline has passed for all of them though...
