Greatest IB exit opp? Co-founder of Friday Beers
Jack Barrett, 31, used to be in Deutsche Bank's Levfin group as an analyst. He now is the Co-founder and CEO of Friday Beers. Personally one of my favorite IG accounts. Also a funny story about his analyst days that he commented on IG: "When I was a first year banking analyst, we'd get 20 bucks of free Seamless every night we stayed past 8 or something. every Friday me and my cubemate/roommate teddy aka terry aka terry tornado aka nado would pool all our Seamless money and order 35 bananas to pick up from the Pine Street deli across the street. We'd show up and our boy Ray working the register would nod towards the bodega fridge and let us take any 3 six packs we wanted, or some equivalent of tall boys. That was the only thing that kept us going really. Good times"
Impossible! Everyone knows the greatest IB exit opp is MF PE (think BX/KKR/Apollo). Haven't you heard?

That banana trick is absolutely legendary
I'm friends with the younger brother who also runs the account.. good dudes
Maybe I'm just overly paranoid, but I hope those other guys he mentioned aren't still in finance.... wouldn't want my current firm knowing that I was slamming beers on Tuesday through DB's seamless.
MBA Associate missed the part where it said Friday

Great stuff.
Ideal IB exit is creating fairly lucrative opportunities via entrepreneurship. A lot more hours than most corporate jobs (100 hour weeks isn't uncommon if you're starting out) but you get to have your own autonomy. I always found the UMM/MF PE exits out of IB humoring as almost everyone I know who did that path post IB analyst stints all either glad they eventually left PE or are miserable within it.
He was also summa cum laude at Dartmouth. Compared to a lot of other people, with Dartmouth and DB on his resume, he definitely was able to take on a lot more risks with his career choices compared to the average person.
