Group Placement Networking Questions

What types of questions should be asking when networking with groups we want to place in? I don't want to use any of the questions I did when I was in recruiting and networking generally. Analysts, what type of questions have you found as good when incoming summer analysts try to network with your group? And for incoming summer analysts like myself, what types of questions have you been asking and what has been your strategy for group placement networking? Have you been focusing on talking to as many people in your top choices or spreading it around evenly? Thanks in advance

Just an intern, so yeah.

But went thru group placement recently for SA, and I kept my questions focused on things they liked most about the group, why they chose the group over others (I avoided direct q's like "so why C&R over tech?" and kept it more along the lines of "why C&R?"), and I asked what things they thought about in their approach to placement when they were in my position.

May also ask questions regarding how their teams communicate on their live deals and their group's staffing model. I had 2 or 3 groups in mind prior to networking period, so I reached out to warm connections in those groups and asked for advice. I found that there were only really 3 or 4 people per group whose opinion on you mattered for getting placed. If you can find out who those people are, introduce yourself and try to be likeable I’d say.

Good luck!
