Groups at Evercore M&A
Monkeys,
What are the top groups at Evercore M&A when considering exits, culture, and deal flow (in that order)? As an incoming SA, wanted to get a feel for groups as the placement process has changed (generalist SA with no generalist FT time) and the firm has many smaller, vertical-focused groups rather than broad industry groups (Ex: FIG is split into Insurance, Banks, & FinTech while TMT is split into Tech, Media and Information, & Telecom). Thanks
Will repeat what I wrote in another thread on this topic:
At the end of the day there are no golden gooses, where you work on only $10bn+ live transactions, every analyst exits to a megafund, and you only have to work 35 hours a week. I'm being facetious, but you get my point; you're going to have to make inherent trade-offs on these dimensions.
What about solely based on exits?
What's your view on the Consumer Retail and Industrials groups? I know both groups have been built out fairly recently, so curious to see how they match up in your mind versus some of the traditionally strong EVR groups like Media & Information
How is HC in terms of deal flow, exits, hours, etc
