GS Financing vs. DB IBD

Should I take a financing group at GS (someone can correct me on this, but I'm pretty sure I would have to stay in financing for 2 years before I can move laterally) or IBD at DB (could probably get into one of its top 3 groups). Any inputs on experience/exit opps/prestige?? Thanks so much!

Depends on what you want to do. If you're into capital markets, then go GS all the way. One of the (if not the) top ECM groups on the street. Solid in all other verticals. But if you want to exit to traditional buyside roles then you need to go DB. Probably the only group in GS Financing that places into well respected funds is LevFin but DB LevFin or any of their strong coverage groups (essp. Sponors/Industrials) will outplace them.
