GS TMT (SF) Culture

Everybody calls this the best group on the street bc of the impeccable deal flow and exits, but what is the culture of the office like? As many hardos as in NY? Is 100 hour weeks the norm? Any insight into GS SF generally would be great

thread of interns arguing over which group (that they will never get an offer to) is more prestigious, basing their entire argument on speculation

I'd say culture is a very varied idea, but the people I know from the firm are great and easy to get along with. Yes, the hours are tough and yes the responsibilities and exits are both top-notch but it really comes down to what you want. Even from SF, I know from friends that if you're really interested you can get top opportunities in NY (although harder) and you'll have opportunities with pretty much every top exit in tech. The only groups that compare here are Qatalyst and MS Menlo and that's more of a matter of preference although I'd take Qatalyst any day of the week
