GSAM Sales Analyst Superday

Just finished a first-round interview for a Sales Analyst role at GSAM. Already had a screener with HR last week and they mentioned Superday will be in a week or so if I am selected.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back after a first rounder? If anyone also has any tips about the Superday itself or GSAM in general I would really appreciate it. Job would be in the Client Solutions Group for Institutionals.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the response time after a first-round interview at Goldman Sachs can vary. For some roles, candidates have heard back within a few days, while others have waited up to a week or more. For instance, in the case of HireVue interviews, responses can take anywhere from 1 week to a month. However, for front-office roles or Superday invitations, responses are typically quicker, often within 2-3 days, though exceptions exist.

Tips for the Superday:

  1. Interview Format: Superdays often consist of multiple 30-minute interviews with various team members, ranging from analysts to managing directors. Be prepared for both behavioral and situational questions.
  2. Behavioral Questions: Expect questions like:
    • "Why GSAM and this division?"
    • "Tell me about a time you worked in a team."
    • "How does your experience align with the Client Solutions Group?"
  3. Situational Questions: Be ready for scenarios such as:
    • "What would you do if a client asked for something unethical?"
    • "How would you handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines?"
  4. Know Your Resume: Be prepared to discuss your strengths, weaknesses, and specific experiences listed on your resume, such as internships or projects.
  5. Ask Questions: Have thoughtful questions prepared about GSAM, the Client Solutions Group, or the role itself. This shows genuine interest and preparation.

General Advice:

  • Networking: If possible, connect with current or former GSAM employees to gain insights into the group and its culture.
  • Preparation: Review valuation methodologies, strategic thinking exercises, and any technical knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Stay Calm: Superdays can be intense, but staying composed and confident will leave a positive impression.

Good luck with your process!

Hey are you able to give a bit of insight into what the first round was like/if there were any technical questions? I have mine coming up for Seattle and am looking to prepare as much as possible

Be ready most of all to explain your background and walk through your resume, as well as explain why you decided to apply for this job specifically. GS typically doesn't ask why you want to work for them specifically and sticks to asking why you want the job itself.

Whole thing is really only 20 minutes in length so past that you will have time to ask a few questions and that's it. Make sure to research whoever will be interviewing you and have a few insightful questions on hand.

So in general come knowing your resume front to back and why you think you'll be a good fit for the role. Don't worry about technicals.

Hey sorry for the delay - I just got an email about an hour ago inviting me to the superday. Hoping for good news on your end
