Help Urgent - Offer

Hi fellow monkeys,

Received an offer in CB (housed with IB) with a large European Bank - my base is on par with IB but obviously bonuses will be lower. Was curious to see if anyone has any insights into what bonuses are like for CB in NYC (Not BB).

Thanks

Would love to know as well, I am actually currently debating whether or not to transfer to CB as CB counterparts at my bank make a decent amount of money with much better hours.

are your chances of getting an ib offer good within the timeframe you have to accept? if not, take the offer.

might not be your no.1 preferred choice, but times are tough atm - don't fuck yourself unnecessarily.

good luck.

No other offer at hand rn but at the same time dont wanna trap myself in CB with no exit. Will only consider if bonus is moderately good

Given that pay is less standardized in "Corporate Banking," which can mean very different things at different banks, is it really out of bounds to reach out directly to the company and ask what guidance they can offer on bonus expectations? Obviously you acknowledge that you're aware there are no guarantees and everything is contingent on individual and company performance - but would this really receive a negative reaction?

Work in CB for a large foreign bank (not Europe) in the US (not NY). But hopefully these figures are helpful.

Base is a small knock off of IB (think 10k less at Analyst/Assoc) and bonuses are around 30%-40% of base at analyst/associate.

As stated, I’ve seen them way higher. Some of our NY CB analysts/associates received ~100% bonuses in the past years.

I work 8:30-6 when there isn’t a pressing deal. Solid gig in my opinion. But yes, obv exit opps are much better in IB. Some of our more active CB groups are close to the low end of IB hours (8:30-9 with a Saturday).
