Helping the family out & CV

Hi guys,

so I didn´t immediately start with college after High School which is somewhat normal in the European country that I live. I worked for 1 1/2 years at the family business, which I needed to do (had to help out). How should i frame it in my CV? Should I explicitly state that it was for a family business or should I act like I worked at some random business? (The Business is a Restaurant btw)

Thank you

For what is this exactly, the college admission or another job (vocational, professional, ..)?
If it is for a college admission I am sure they won't care as much anyway since it would be for undergrad? do you meet all other admission requirements?

if it is for a job I would put more detail into it, not sure if I'd disclose the family relationship though.

ah, interesting. In that case can you spin the job in a reasonable way towards finance? bookkeeping/accounting? vendor negotiations, etc

again, not sure if it makes sense to tell them the business is owned by your family. Some might think you were faking it even though you did a great job? depends on who is going to review/receive the application.
