Hey WSO, what's your advice?
Hi All, My name is Cengiz and I am an undergraduate finance student. I recently gained interest for Investment Banking- M&A from a friend on-campus. He mentioned his experience with interning in IB and things he liked/didn't like. His advice was that it is long hours although it feels like a boarding school if I found enjoyment in doing it. There is a huge learning curve to go along with the experience; He also added. So I spent the weekend learning Trading Comps, Transaction Comps, and DCF valuations (Investment Banking by Joshua Rosenbuam and Joshue Pearl). So far I've gained a ton of knowledge but have much more to learn (LBO and M&A buy/sell- Side); Which I plan on finishing this week. Although I needed a new platform to enhance my understanding and set myself up for success when applying for IB positions. I am ambitious and willing to learn (I could take harsh criticism) and I am reaching out on this forum for additional tips, tricks, or other handy advice I could use to make myself more marketable when applying for positions in IB. Thanks! -Cengiz
