High Yield Summer Analyst Interview Help

Tomorrow morning I have an interview to be a summer analyst in a Global High Yield Investing group. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience interviewing at a group such as this and how the interview/technicals are especially in comparison it a standard ib interview.

I just did a fixed income research internship this summer, so I can give you my two cents. Techincals wise you should know your bond math and basic concepts yield, maturity duration etc. Really common question is the difference between analyzing bonds and stocks ie cash flow, seniority vs. growth and expectations. Definitely have a stock/ investment pitch and know whats going on with the fed and general market news. Also might want to look into restructuring and bankruptcy cause it's HY. Fixed income market is way bigger than the equity market might be good to throw that in there if they ask why debt. also active management performs better compared to index funds compared to the equity side. good luck
