Highest comp An1

Hello everyone - Figured it would be nice to see a benchmark of salaries for undergrads entering full time work that are significantly above "street". I run a fund and am trying to attract top talent, so a list of the highest paying packages for An1 besides Prop Trading would be appreciated. Specific names would be best.

At a lower BB think Barclays, UBS, DB. Bonuses depend on group but generally have heard 140-170 all in for top groups at those shops, street base is 110 except for some EB's which are at 120. Have a friend at PJT M&A NYC who got 200k all in so I can ping that as a datapoint, I believe RSSG was 220k.

Gordon Dyal paid out 300k+ to An1 class in recent memory. Ardea pays around 240k and all interns are bucketed the same. Evercore consistently pumps 170-190k (+/-). Ducera is a sweatshop but well known for 220k An1. For HF side, P72 Academy is around 180-225k, Weiss is 250-350k depending on competing offers, Citadel Baly and MLP are are roughly the same around 200k. MFPE I have little insight into but threads say around 180-220k and im assuming credit is nearly identical nowadays. VC is a complete black box and likely is below IB at the An1 level. Specialized Rx advisors like Province pay 230-260k An1 or M3 which is 140 base +100% Bonus. Quant is anywhere from these numbers to 500k+ but seems you are excluding those. Startups are black box but are around these figures, happy to add SWE side of stuff if interested but seems like just finance these are the outliers and upper ranges.

Interesting, from your comment history it seems like you either had a bad experience with the firm/ex-employee or currently work there. Could you provide clarity on An1 salary then since the forums on CO seem to back this up?

Nope, Province really is that high. If you knew anything about RX consulting, you'd know that how "prestigious" your background is doesn't really mean that much to them, it's more about actual problem solving skills, fit and operational experience.

FTI still underpaying? - surprised to see Alix not paying more. A&M only pays that much if you hit crazy billable hours which is doable as an AN1

Adding on, I believe some other specialized RX co outfits also pay that level

I went to a target with classmates at multiple of those shops. I can confirm P72, Citadel, and Province.

Is that meaning Province Pays 230-260K is True? I heard they pay interns 30/hr. How is that possible? Also their Analyst Class are from semi, non targets. Just curious

Yeah I bet it's a college student trying to figure out what pays the most

Ya this thread seems to just be information gathering on first year comp of money hungry college students, if you are starting up an HF you likely have a built out network to source talent and pay accordingly.

Currently is 110, not 140, not 100. They had a big boom and were understaffed in 2020 from fintech at the time, which caused the 140k. They lowered it back a little over a year ago, as well as cut back down to a more balanced staff size. Currently they're doing good again, did 2.2Bn and 1.3Bn deals within the past month despite most of their stuff being smaller cap raises. Also the summer analysts internship is 8 weeks lol

Congrats on FT. I only said they cut down the internship for 2023. The firm hasn't closed an actual quality deal in a very long time, and exits went to virtually zero.

It's 110 for the class incoming this year. 140 was phased out. Went from 140 to 120 to 110.

Reading the above, and out of curiosity, how much do you plan to pay your AN1?

Yes Anon account I can confirm with 100% confidence.

This is not true lmao. I have 3 alumni who went there for analyst years. None of them broke 180k for An1.

Can we get a list of high paying and low paying SA salaries. I am literally getting paid 20 an hour at Oppenheimer for IB, not even kidding check the old posting for SA 2026. I thought when I would get the offer it would be more, but no its poverty wages. Is anyone else getting cucked?

My cousin did SA at Wells and was paid 53k gross for 10 weeks. That's the highest SA pay I’ve heard of—not even close to my BB. So if you have interns, there’s a benchmark.

A couple banks like RBC, Citi, WF pay overtime for SA. 53k implies a fuckload of hours though lol (might be possible in Chrlotte) and trust me wells overhires so interns are realistically not seeing near that.

No, we focus on only one industry and our bread and butter is two pretty specific sub verticals in that space. Not a bad set up, good comp I feel with not terrible hours. You have about a fourth of the year that is 80-100 and then rest of the year is about 50-60. Had a decent amount of weeks I put in maybe 40 hours. Good upward mobility and direct exposure to seniors daily. One thing culturally that is nice is there's no working or being online for the sake of "putting in hours." When you're done with your work for the day you can sign off. Can't really complain.
