Hold on SA offer

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new to the site, but I was fortunate enough to intern at a lower middle market bank this past summer but unfortunately was placed on hold, where after speaking with analysts that I built a strong relationships with and the other interns that were going to accept, I decided to formally remove myself from the process due to the lack of space at the boutique. Is there a chance to still land at an upper middle market investment banking firm as an analyst? I maintained the previous relationship that I built during recruiting. Additionally, excluding the guides and modeling prep courses, would anyone be able to provide sample technical questions they received from restructuring or elite boutiques? To my knowledge, those interviews tend to be more technical and I would like to be as prepared as possible if any opportunity were to arise.

Thank you!

So you didn’t receive a full time offer? Was there feedback as to why you were put on hold and others received an offer? That’s the first thing you’ll want to figure out.

If you’ve maintained relationships elsewhere reach out/ full time recruiting has definitley started, start spinning your story though because if you don’t have an offer and they ask, you’ll need to have a story for it.

It's definitely still possible. It'll just be an uphill battle, since banks are always looking for external indicators of your competence, and not having the return offer in hand will go against you there. If it's something you feel that's easy to explain in your favor, just be confident when they ask you about it, and hopefully you'll be able to assuage their worries.
