Honors Thesis Topic?

Hey all,

I'm beginning work on my honors thesis this week and I'm trying to figure out what to focus on.

I'm doing a Summer Analyst gig at a top MM this summer and I'm looking for an honors thesis topic that is somewhat relevant to banking. Maybe something that could help in interviews if I don't get a return offer.

Would also be interesting in something a little more politically charged (e.g., "Do corporate political donations make a difference in company performance?").

Thanks, guys.

I had to do a senior thesis at my school and honestly it won't probably matter that much for recruiting. For me at least the process wasn't far enough along to allow for any meaningful conversations by the time recruiting season came around.

That said, I did mine on the effect of eurozone membership on sovereign bond yield spreads for EU member states after the financial crisis. Somebody else did something with M&A activity and like interest rates? Don't remember exactly.
