Houlihan Lokey Chicago - Culture and Groups

Does anyone know what the culture is like in the Chicago office? Does it vary at all by coverage groups? Work-Life Balance? Have heard RX is sweaty but haven't heard much about the other groups...

Know a few guys in industrials and the group has pretty good deal flow. Pretty laid back/supportive culture. I believe its the largest group in Chicago in terms of headcountHealthcare is known for being super sweaty in the past but have heard the hours have improvedConsumer, food and retail is the strongest by far. The global head sits in Chicago and absolutely crushes the food and beverage space. Heard it can get pretty sweaty

Was once at a recruiting event with 25+ other college kids in once of their conference rooms. As snow was coming down side ways, an Associate/VP proceeded to drone on about how HL doesn’t care about personality and only cares about the amount of work you can put out. I think he was an RX guy. I remember being amazed by that outlook on life and zoned out for the rest of the presentation.
