Houston Comp?
Is IB comp in Houston significantly lower than NY due to the drastic difference in COL?
Any figures?
I'm at the associate level and am considering making the move for family health reasons and am curious, even as to the comp dif at Analyst, VP, MD etc levels as well as Associate.
Any difference in career progression?
If anyone has any experience it'd be of help
The comp isn't different compared to NY. You get paid on the same level. With COL, at least from a financial point of view, Houston becomes a no-brainer.
Using a COL calculator, you would need 300k in NY to match the lifestyle that 130k would give you in Houston.
It's no different
Comp is the same.
But Houston will primarily be O&G coverage. People have discussed on great length on here why there is trepidation around entering that vs groups in NYC. Especially given recent industry trends.
