Houston PE Recruiting Process

I am working next year at a BB in Houston. I'm very familiar with the PE recruiting process in NY, but have absolutely no idea how it works in Texas. Is there "on-cycle" recruiting the way there is in NY where a ton of firms recruit at the same time? Are headhunters the main points of contact and do they reach out to BB analysts the way they do in NY, or is the entire process less streamlined? Is the timeline as early as NY?

This is assuming I am interested in PE in Texas (Houston or Dallas), NOT attempting to move from Houston to NY.
